RCWS - 30 Unmanned Turret
The 30 UMT is designed to mount a 30mm gun (e.g. Mk44/Mk44S 30x173mm Automatic Gun or other) and a coaxial machine gun (e.g. M240 7.62x51mm MG or other). The Samson (Morion) 30 UMT is designed to be integrated into any modern light- armoured, high-mobility fighting vehicle, new or upgraded, including modern Infantry Fighting Vehicles (IFVs). It provides the host vehicle crew observation and target engagement capabilities with enhanced firing accuracy while being protected by the vehicle main armour.
The 30 UMT mounts weapons to provide the platform with enhanced lethality to counter a wide variety of threats in Major Combat Operations and Small Scale contingencies. It allows the successful engagement of soft and armored target at extended ranges. The possibility of integration of the ATGM launching system enables it to defeat heavy armored vehicles, including Main Battle Tanks (MBTs). The system's configuration provides the Commander with a full "hunter-killer" capability without interfering with the Gunner's current missions.
